Bases

SnS is a polyvalent weapon, able to use both guard and dodges with a great mobility on the defensive side. Its guard is rather weak though. This is the only weapon that can use items with the weapon unsheathed.

Its fast attacks make it a good weapon to deal elemental damage and inflict statuses. Its shield bashes can also deal blunt damage, giving you a chance to stun monsters.

Earth Style

Frontier SnS gets a new sliding attack during its combo. This attack has some iframes like a roll, allowing you to dodge moves while attacking with some practice.

You can also do an infinite combo and a shield combo from guard.

In this style, the combo finisher is pretty strong and tends to be spammed.

Heaven Style

Heaven Style introduces a static jumped attack, trading it for the original combo finisher. It’s a good tool to reach tails.

You can also do small jumps to dodge mid combo. Doing perfect dodges with these is pretty easy, allowing you to keep your positioning to focus your combos on a weak spot.

Storm Style

Storm Style replaces the base combo with a thrusting one. These hits have a special property allowing you to deal 140% element damage, making them really great for elemental builds.

Extreme Style

Like every other weapon, SnS can run in Extreme Style. When running, you can do either a slicing forward sommersault or a blunt jumped shield bash.

Extreme Style loses the Heaven Style thrusting combo and gets back the original base combo. You also gain the ability to do a 3 hit static shield bash combo to stun the monster more easily.

You also get the ability to do a dodging attack with iframes mid-combo to change your positioning while dodging hits.

Daily bonus

If the SnS daily bonus is up, it gains 20% element and status damage.
