Endemic Life

The Forbidden Lands are full of life in MH Wilds! And for those who want to go on a safari, here is a detailed guide on where to find every animal and fish in the game.

Small disclaimer, I generally add only one spawn, confirmed by my own experience and not a full listing of every single spawn (cause I still want to keep a little sanity, not even accounting the chaos that is hours and seasons). If the weather and the hour aren’t precised, chances are it’s during the Plenty by day.

I’ll also add screens for the harder creatures to find. Cause when you’ll be resetting for the 20th time, you might start to question the intel shared here, trust me.

Prism Hercudrome

Ultra rare variant of the Hercudrom who only appears in Wyveria Ruins. Really hard to find, only saw on the three in the stream of area 6. It seems to appear in a 5min window before the morning. A good strategy seems to save in the Ruins a few minutes before dawn in the time period when it can spawns then to leave the game without saving and to check its spawn spot until it appears (check, exit without saving, check, exit without saving).

There are good chances this will be your last missing animal with how absurdely rare he is.

Aquatic Life

The spots I’m indicating here are places where you can find these fishs more easily (at on my own feeling). The fish spawn in a water point are random and can take some time to appear so wait 15-20s if you see nothing. You can reset the spawns by moving to a camp a little farther in the map (unlike endemic life who requires a full map change).

The starduster schools who appears in the dam lake in area 17 of the Scarlet Forest at night are a real fishing gacha if you want to catch a lot of sushifish, whetfish and bowfins.

Warning, since the 11th March, the fish now flee after a nest shot, you should better use your fishing rod to use this tip.

Ready to pull some SSR Bowfin

On the bigger fishes like the Great Trevally, you need to move to another map to reset the spawns, unlike regular fishes. You need to fish them using your fishing rod and not with the capture net, using Baits you’ll get from Kanya during her quest line.

Fishing these fish will first ask you to throw your bait then reel using your stick to bring the bait closer until the fish bites and get hooked using R2. This starts a fishing mini-game where you need to tire the fish by following its moves with the stick when it struggle then reel with the stick when it’s too tired to get him closer to the shore. Small tip, you can make the game easier by pulling your bait and the fish closer to the shore while you reel the bait. Just avoid putting the bait right next to your feets or the fish will flee.
